4.2.09: Sorrel — I was in the East Anglian Daily Times today — promoting the work of the Anthony Nolan Trust.

25.12.08: Sorrel and Daisy — It's amazing! Santa brought us lots of pressies. Merry Christmas everyone! Unfortunately we are a bit low with colds, so we'll open some of the presents tomorrow when we have more energy.

22.12.08: Sorrel — I was in the local paper again today — a story about blood transfusions.

16.12.08: Sorrel — I am FOUR today! I had a fun party with my friends and I blew out all the candles on my cake.

14.12.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We had a lovely day at Colchester Zoo. We saw real elephants and a real Santa.

16.10.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We made a film today. It was for a DVD for mothers wanting to donate their cord blood.

8.10.08: Daisy — I've got chicken pox too. Personally I blame Sorrel.

23.9.08: Sorrel — I have got chicken pox.

3.9.08: Sorrel — I started at pre-school today. It was fun. I brought home a hand-paint picture.

3.9.08: Daisy — I got Mummy in trouble because I dialled the emergency services on the telephone.

25.8.08: Sorrel — Ouch. I have fractured my collarbone.

20.8.08: Sorrel — Dr Mike says I can now do all the things a normal girl does, like going to swimming pools and school.

7.6.08: Sorrel — I am going to be featured on the new Anthony Nolan Trust publicity leaflet with Daisy — this is the pic they are using. There's also an interview with Mummy on their website!

3.6.08: Daisy — I had a lovely birthday. Lots of friends came and we had a party with lots of nice things to eat. And I got lots of presents.

9.5.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We went swimming for the first time ever today at Sharon's. At first we were a bit scared but I think we liked it by the end.

24.3.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We safely back home again.

23.3.08: Sorrel and Daisy — It's Easter Sunday and we woke up to lots of snow. Daddy took us sledging. Then we went up into the Dales for a family reunion in Hawes. We met lots of people and did more sledging. And there were lots of baby lambs. What fun!

22.2.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We're off to Yorkshire for a couple of days to stay with Grandma.

17.3.08: Daisy — Daddy says I am very brave. I went to hospital and had one of my teeth removed under general anaesthetic. I'm fine now.

15.3.08: Daisy — Oh, dear. I smashed my two front teeth today and had to go to A&E. I need to go back on Monday to have a little operation to sort things out.

11.2.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We were on Anglia Tonight television today. What fun!

9.2.08: Sorrel — Today is the first anniversary of my bone-marrow transplant.

8.2.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We're glad to be home again after a tiring trip!

7.2.08: Sorrel — I had my 12-month check-up today post transplant. And all the signs are good. I will have my inoculations in August and be allowed to go to school in September.

6.2.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We had a great time at Bristol Zoo today. Sorrel liked the hippo best and Daisy thought the penguins were great. It was nice to meet up with Helen, Joyce and Richard.

Sorrel — I was in a lot of papers today including the Daily Telegraph, Times, Yorkshire Post, East Anglian Daily Times, Daily Mail online, BBC online, The Sun.

5.2.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We went to a press conference at the children's hospital and met the government's chief medical officer, Sir Liam Donaldson.

Sorrel — I was on telly tonight, on The West Tonight. I was also in the Bristol Evening Post.

Daisy — I said my first sentence today. It was: 'I love you, Daddy.'

4.2.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We're off to Bristol today. How exciting.

27.1.08: Sorrel and Daisy — We went to church this morning and when it was very quiet during the prayers Sorrel said in a loud voice: 'I'm having so much fun!'.

16.1.08: Sorrel — Last week I had a cold but I managed to fight it off all by myself. The doctors at hospital were amazed how well I coped. I had a check-up in hospital today and my blood results were very encouraging.

5.1.08: Sorrel — The local paper did a follow-up story on me today.

30.12.07: Sorrel — I have named my baby dollies — 'Sunflower', 'Crumbs' and 'Blink Blink'. Those are nice names.

25.12.07: Sorrel and Daisy — Santa came and we got lots of presents. We had a lot of fun.

16.12.07: Sorrel — It's my THIRD birthday today! I had a lovely day and got lots of presents.

15.12.07: Daisy — We met Santa Claus at Wimpole Hall Farm. He gave us both a present. He was very friendly — we like him.

30.11.07: Sorrel — My Hickman line has come out!

16.11.07: Sorrel — I'm back home again. And there's talk of my Hickman line coming out soon.

12.11.07: Sorrel — Back in hospital again, I'm afraid.

30.10.07: Sorrel — Hooray, I'm back home again.

26.10.07: Sorrel — Dammit. Got a temperature and back in hospital again.

17.10.07: Sorrel — The doctors say I can now see other (healthy) children.

4.10.07: Sorrel — And out again.

1.10.07: Sorrel — In again.

21.9.07: Sorrel — Hooray, I'm back home again.

17.9.07: Sorrel — Ho hum, I have had to go back into hospital again.

13.9.07: Sorrel — Hooray, I'm back home again.

10.9.07: Sorrel — I have had to go back into hospital again. I don't know how long for this time, but hopefully I'll be home again soon.

22.8.07: Daisy — I have started walking today.

16.8.07: Sorrel — I back home again! Hooray!

23.7.07: Sorrel — I was mentioned in the local paper again today, regarding the building of a new hospital in Cambridge!

22.7.07: Daisy — I am back home after a great adventure 'oop north' with Grandma.

6.7.07: Sorrel — My blood counts are really good this week — but I'm still in hospital.

21.6.07: Sorrel — I've been readmitted to Addenbrooke's.

6.6.07: Sorrel and Daisy — We were in the Cambridge paper and the East Anglia Daily Times today!

5.6.07: Sorrel — A man from the newspaper came to take some photos of me today. I think I might be in the news again tomorrow.

3.6.07: Daisy — I am one today!

2.6.07: Sorrel and Daisy — We went to the Great Wratting Fete. Everyone made a fuss of us.

1.6.07: Sorrel — I AM HOME AGAIN!!!!

20.5.07: Sorrel — Auntie Kathy and her friend completed the Great Manchester Run today! They raised lots of money — well over £2,500 — for leukaemia. I am very proud of them.

13.5.07: Daisy — I've gone on a trip to Yorkshire with Grandma.

9.5.07: Sorrel — I've had to go back into hospital. Grrr!

4.5.07: Sorrel — I AM HOME!!!!

27.4.07: Sorrel — Seventy seven days after my transplant I walked out of my isolation room today. Then I hopped into an ambulance and went back to Addenbrooke's (hopefully just for the weekend).

26.4.07: Daisy — I now have a third tooth.

23.4.07: Sorrel — I was in the local paper again today!

22.4.07: Daisy — I've thought long and hard about this, but I have decided that I now want to crawl. I can also say some words like 'bird' and 'cat'.

19.4.07: Sorrel — I'm full of energy. It seems that the only thing stopping me from going home is some troublesome internal bleeding.

10.4.07: Sorrel — My discharge has been delayed a few days because my counts dropped briefly. But I hope to be home soon.

4.4.07: Sorrel — I think 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' is the greatest song ever written. Today I demanded that Daddy played it about 20 times on his iPod. Great stuff!

2.4.07: Sorrel — My consultant thinks I might be able to go straight home when I leave isolation. And that might be soon — yippee!

30.3.07: Daisy — Hooray, Daddy has come home to see me for the weekend.

24.3.07: Sorrel — I was in the local paper again today!

22.3.07: Sorrel — My new blood has been analysed and it is 100% donor cells — this is very good news apparently.

18.3.07: Sorrel — Hooray, Daddy is back. He has been banned for a few days because he has been ill.

17.3.07: Sorrel — There's now evidence that my new bone-marrow is working! My neutrophil count is up and I have a bit of Graft-versus-Host Disease (which I believe is a good sign).

12.3.07: Daisy — I was weighed today — I'm now 21lb 13oz, or 9.84kg!

8.3.07: Sorrel — My (very low) neutrophil count has remained the same for three days in a row. This might mean my new marrow is starting to work. I am a big Play-Doh fan.

5.3.07: Sorrel — I am feeling better today and my appetite has started to come back. I had some ice lolly and spinach puree. Yum.

28.2.07: Sorrel — Today's Cambridge Evening News has a story about Daddy giving me blood. I still need this because I am not yet producing my own blood. Hopefully my new bone marrow will start working soon.

21.2.07: Sorrel — The doctors did lots of tests on me today and they say I am doing fine.

16.2.07: Sorrel — I was in the Haverhill Weekly News again today! My consultant says I am doing very well.

15.2.07: Sorrel — Auntie Kathy donated some granulocytes for me today — but unfortunately the doctors said they could not use them.

12.2.07: Sorrel — Daddy is helping me by donating some of his white blood cells (granulocytes). He went to have them taken this morning and I received them later in the day.

09.2.07: Sorrel — One of the staff who has been here 15 years said I was the liveliest two-year-old she could remember! Today I had my transplant of new stem cells. It was just like having a blood transfusion and took about 20 minutes. I have been in the papers again today — both the Cambridge Evening News/Haverhill Weekly News and the East Anglian Daily Times.

08.2.07: Daisy — My second tooth has now come through.

02.2.07: Sorrel — I moved into the isolation ward today. I have quite a nice room with a view of a building site. I like diggers. My hair is growing back again, but I believe it is going to fall out again soon.

02.2.07: Sorrel — I saw a fox today in the Royal Fort Gardens. It scratched a lot and then went and sat on a car's roof.

31.1.07: Sorrel — I started my pre-bone marrow transplant conditioning today.

30.1.07: Sorrel — I had the best day ever today. Mummy, Daddy and Sian took me to Bristol Zoo. It was fantastic. My favourite animal was the pygmy hippo.

30.1.07: Sorrel — I had another lovely day down at Bristol Docks today. I saw some skateboarders and went to see Wildwalk with Mummy, Daddy and Jennifer.

28.1.07: Sorrel — I had a great day today. Sian and Rob came to see me and we went for a wander around the old docks in Bristol. There are lots of interesting places down there.

27.1.07: Sorrel — I went for a walk to the Royal Fort Gardens with Mummy and Daddy. I saw some squirrels there — they ran up the trees and ate nuts. I like squirrels.

26.1.07: Sorrel — I was due to go back to Sam's House today, but because there are people there with colds, I've been forced to stay in hospital.

25.1.07: Sorrel — I had a busy day in hospital. My bone marrow was harvested and I had a new Hickman Line inserted. This made me a bit upset.

24.1.07: Sorrel — I went to Bristol for my bone marrow transplant today. I spent the night in 'Sam's House' with Mummy and Daddy.

12.1.07: Sorrel — I am the front page lead story in the Haverhill Weekly News today! It's the same story as the Cambridge Evening News with the headline 'Transplant hope as tot fights leukaemia'. Tot!?

11.1.07: Sorrel — I was in the East Anglian Daily Times today!

9.1.07: Sorrel — I was in the Cambridge Evening News again today!

1.1.07: Sorrel — Hooray, Daddy is back at the hospital. He has been off for three nights due to illness.

27.12.06: Daisy — Crikey, we're still opening Christmas presents.

25.12.06: Sorrel — When I woke up I found some presents on my bed. What fun! Then I went to see Santa who was in his grotto. I'm still a bit suspicious of him. Then lots of my family came to see me.

Daisy — I went to see Sorrel in hospital. She was a bit reluctant to let me play with her presents, so I chewed the wrapping paper instead. I can just about sit now.

22.12.06: Sorrel — My story and picture appeared in the Cambridge Evening News today!

21.12.06: Sorrel — Some footballers from Cambridge United visited me in hospital today. They are not doing very well at the moment. I reckon I could challenge for a first-team place.

20.12.06: Daisy — I'm a brave little girl. I had some blood taken from me today to see if I'm a potential donor for Sorrel.

16.12.06: Sorrel — Hey, I'm two! I had a lovely birthday in hospital. I got lots of presents and a caterpillar cake (it looked like a caterpillar, it wasn't made of caterpillars)!

12.12.06: Sorrel — The Cambridge Evening News took my picture today. They also took a picture of Daddy having a massage!

10.12.06: Sorrel — I went to the hospital Christmas party, but I was very tired and fell asleep. Santa came to see me in my bed and brought me a present.

7.12.06: Sorrel — Today I was allowed to go out of hospital for the first time since I was admitted 2½ months ago. I was taken to see a man called Matthew Manning. I enjoyed the experience.

I am now back on chemotherapy and hopefully will go to Bristol for a bone-marrow transplant in about a month's time.

30.11.06: Daisy — I have had my first taste of solid food. It was called baby rice and I thought it was yummy.

12.10.06: I am now putting a few sentences together. My favourite is 'Get it, Daddy!'.

10.10.06: My hair is starting to fall out now. Soon I will overtake Daddy and his receding hairline.

7.10.06: I am in very good spirits. Thank you to everyone who has sent me cards and gifts. I am keeping Daddy awake at night with lots of nappy changes. I've also got a bigger bed than him. Ha ha!

29.9.06: I've had a tube inserted down my nose so the nurses can feed me. I am quite angry about this.

27.9.06: My chemotherapy ended today, so I won't be hooked up to the drip so much for a while. Daddy was on telly tonight talking about my personal chef Mick!

23.9.06: Today I started my first round of chemotherapy. It made me very sick at the end of the day.

22.9.06: I had another general anaesthetic today so that a 'Hickman Line' could be inserted in me.

21.9.06: I had a general anaesthetic today for a bone marrow analysis. I was only 'under' for 10 minutes. I was hungry afterwards.

19.9.06: I have had to go to hospital because I have got leukaemia. I can expect to be there for six months. But it's a nice place with lots of things for us children to do.
